Built in 1960, the Minar-e Pakistan is located in the Iqbal Park,Lahore. This public monument celebrates the success of the Pakistan Resolution passed in 1940.
Designed and supervised by Nasreddin Murat Khan, an architect and engineer from Dagestan, the tower exemplifies a synthesis of Islamic, Mughal and modern architecture. The 62 meters tall tower is situated on an 8 meter high base. The flower shaped rostrum, facing the Badshahi Mosque is built with patterned tiles.
Minar-e-Pakistan at Night
The base of the tower is a comprised structure of four platforms, built respectively with taxila, hammer dressed and chiseled stones along with polished marble.
Lined with red and green marble, two crescent-shaped four feet deep pools surrounding the platform reflects glittering images of the tower during the night.

Decorated with white marble, the tower consists 10 vertical slabs weaved with flower petals, shiny domes and a spiral staircase.
The marble fountains occupying the access point, accompanied with watery rainbows produced by special lighting, adds further beauty to this memorial.
